Every month new exhibits are installed, consisting of works by student, emerging and professional artists. Through an independent jurying process, artists are recognized for their achievements with monetary prize awards, including the Jean Wagner Troemel Best of Show. Other awards include the Ted Karam Memorial for Best Sculpture; the Carl Steinsieck Memorial for Best Figure Drawing; the Emmett Fritz Memorial for Best Landscape Oil Painting and the Ann James Memorial for Best Pastel Portrait. Winners are announced at the Opening Receptions.

ARTWORK EXHIBIT GUIDELINES
Artwork Standards Original fine art and crafts (2D, 3D) produced solely by the artist within the past three years. 2D works/paintings must be dry; framed or gallery wrapped (2in) with finished edges; ready to hang with wire on back (no saw tooth hangers); max size 60” x 60” framed. No frosted acrylic or non-glare glass. Photographs and 2D digital art must be matted and framed. Max size for free-standing 3D work is 5’h x 3’w. Other 3D work must fit on a gallery pedestal. Special installations to be handled by the artist and approved by STAAA. Failure to comply with these standards may result in disqualification from exhibit and/or awards.
Ineligible Work Kits, mass-produced objects, novelty items, giclees of any kind, reproductions of any kind except original printmaking, copies of other artwork, published images including photographs, or works that have been displayed in past STAAA juried exhibits are ineligible.
Delivery and Pickup Artists must complete an entry form for each submitted piece. Artwork must be hand-delivered or shipped in compliance with the designated receiving dates and times. Shipped art will incur a $15 handling fee. Works juried out of an exhibit must be retrieved upon notification. All accepted entries must remain on display through the end of the exhibit and promptly removed at the conclusion. Storage is not available.
Judging and Awards Thoughtful consideration is given to the judging process. Participating artists should be aware that some works may not be chosen for inclusion into exhibits. Judges’ decisions are final. Selected artists in each exhibit are recognized with cash prizes and vouchers for outstanding achievement. STAAA determines the awards presented at each exhibit.
Rights and Liability The St. Augustine Art Association is not liable for loss, theft, or damage of artwork in its possession. All efforts are made to treat artwork with care and security.
Sales STAAA will process sales of all artwork on display in the gallery. A 20% fee will be assessed ofr STAAA members and 40% for non-members. Special exhibits incur different fees. POR (price on request) artowrk is not allowed. Artists may need to assist with shipping arrangements for sold art.
