PASTEL & THE SEASONAL LANDSCAPE
Lyn Asselta, Nat'l Parks Artist-in-Residence
Thursdays, Jan. 26 - Feb. 16, 2012; 6 - 9pm

Florida may not offer dramatic changes in the seasons, but you can use your personal travel photos to create exquisite seasonal themes in your paintings. Experiment with the pastel color palette and learn how to capture vibrant fall foliage, the structure of bare trees, snow, shifts in light and moods that convey time and place. Discover how the four seasons can inspire you to re-envision your painting process. For beginner to intermediate level pastel artists. Supply list provided.

Fee: $165 ($10 off for members or early bird discount if paid by Jan. 12).


FIGURATIVE PORTRAITS WITH RICHARD WEAVER
Richard Weaver, National Portrait Gallery
Sat & Sun, Feb. 18 & 19, 2012; 9am to 4pm

An immersion into the art of figurative portraiture, this workshop will focus on defining shapes, light, perspective, capturing likeness and setting the clothed model within an environment.

Fee: $225 includes breakfast. ($10 discount for members and early birds if paid by Feb. 1). Special hotel rates available.


NON-INSTRUCTIONAL STUDIO SESSIONS

Monday Night Life Drawing
Weekly live model sessions. Gestures and long poses.
Resumes in September. 7 to 10pm ($10/members). Easels/tables provided.

NEW! Open Studio Tuesdays
Weekly studio time for artists to create, critique, collaborate!
Begins in September. 1 to 4pm. ($10/members). Easels/tables provided.

The St. Augustine Art Association Young Artists Group, UNFRAMED, gathers monthly for open studio time, idea sharing, critiques and community art projects.
