Show Guidlines

Every month new exhibits are installed, consisting of works by student, emerging and professional artists. Through an independent jurying process, artists are recognized for their achievements with monetary prize awards, including the Jean Wagner Troemel Best of Show. Other awards include the Ted Karam Memorial for Best Sculpture; the Carl Steinsieck Memorial for Best Figure Drawing; the Emmett Fritz Memorial for Best Landscape Oil Painting and the Ann James Memorial for Best Pastel Portrait. Winners are announced at the Opening Receptions.

JAN 6 - 29, 2012 FIGURE & PORTRAIT
Open Media. Artwork with a primary subject of the human body or face. Figure studies, including academic drawings, formal portraits or busts, people in groups. Limit two entries per artist. JURIED. Special Awards: "Carl Steinsieck Award for Best Figure Drawing," "Ann James Award for Best Pastel Portrait"

FEB 3 - 26, 2012 CANVAS, CLAY, COLLAGE & CUTTING EDGE
Open Subject for the three media. "C"-ing is believing when four themes combine in one exhibit setting. Cutting Edge is defined as work that pushes the boundaries of ideas and/or materials. Limit two entries per artist. JURIED.

Artworks created by students in local middle schools.

MAR 2 - 25, 2012 FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Open Media. This exhibit combines both the literal images of food, such as still life, with imaginative thought-provoking interpretations of any subject that offers "food for thought." A food drive underscores the exhibit. Limit two entries per artist. JURIED.

Sponsored by Carr, Riggs & Ingram An exhibition of student artworks selected by area high school art teachers and juried for awards.

APR 28 - MAY 27, 2012 ANNUAL NATURE & WILDLIFE EXHIBIT

Open Media. The exhibit represents nature in all of its beautiful forms and the wildlife that inhabits the great outdoors. JURIED for entry by CD. Deadline: March 2. Special Awards: "Judith Ryan Williams Award"

Open Subject. Open Media. NEW works by artists who have won awards in STAAA exhibits during the previous three years, including Honorable Mentions. Limit two entries per artist. JURIED. Special Awards: "Emmett Fritz Award for Best Oil Painting", "Theodore KaramAward for Best Sculpture"

Summer Art Camps for children,Art Programs for young artists, a Children's Art Walk Show, along with special exhibit installations heat up the summer months.

To enter your artwork into an exhibit, download the Show Entry Form and submit it along with your artwork on the designated Receiving Dates. All artwork must be delivered in person.

Two days of receiving: Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Artists may enter artwork for monthly exhibits on Tuesday from noon to 7 PM and Wednesdays from noon to 4 PM only. Openings will be held during the First Friday Art Walk.
