Demystifying Cyanotype Prints

Workshop with Nikki Rakov

at the St. Augustine Art Association

Celebrate the Blue Moon with a workshop in magical cyanotype printing!

Alongside award-winning artist, Nikki Rakov, learn about the history of these poetic blue images and discover the many ways cyanotype can be explored to create art. Together, you’ll learn how to print from a negative, create contact prints, and experiment with various materials. By the end of the afternoon, you’ll have made beautiful blue works of art, and have the skills to start making your own cyanotype prints at home!

All materials and supplies are included.

About the Instructor

Trained as an artist through her Fine Arts undergraduate work, Nikki Rakov is an MFA Painting Candidate at Savannah College of Art and Design. Nikki often works in acrylic, oils, watercolor and drawing media that is layered into her paintings to express her visions of a mysterious world. Her paintings reveal figures and animals interpreted from dreams, visions, and ghost stories woven together in dark and spooky landscapes. Nature in her landscapes is derived from memory and imagination, taking on the role of another character in her expressive paintings. Many of her award-winning works have been exhibited throughout the surrounding area, including at Butterfield Garage Art Gallery and the St. Augustine Art Association.
