Programs & Exhibits of the St. Augustine Art Association are funded in part by grants from the the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council, the St. Johns County Cultural Council, the Community Foundation of Northeast Florida, and the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture, the Florida Council on Arts and Culture, and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Exhibit Coordinator’s Statement – Antonio C. Scott
“The St. Augustine Art Association (STAAA) in partnership with the St. Johns County School District (SJCSD) are proud to host the 18th annual All-County High School Art Show. This premier event under the guidance of our visual arts instructors publicly showcases the work of our high school students. The event also demonstrates as a united community we recognize the importance of celebrating students’ artistic expression. By providing opportunities such as this it promotes critical thinking, problem-solving skills, creativity, alternative ways to communicate, and cross-cultural understanding, which supports academic success across the curriculum as well as personal growth outside the classroom. In this year’s show, you will see on display a collection of incredibly unique works that stirs in the viewer a wide range of emotional responses.
The results of our student efforts are a direct reflection of the high-quality arts education afforded to every student in grades K-12. Fine arts programming such as this exist largely because of our district leadership’s commitment to the arts and the whole child. Special thanks to Superintendent Tim Forson, School Board Chair, Ms. Kelly Barrera and board members, Patrick Canan, Anthony Coleman, Jennifer Collins, and Beverly Slough.
The SJCSD deeply appreciates the continued support of STAAA, which has enabled us to put on an annual event at the highest caliber. We are honored to feature our high school artists in the main gallery and in the company of many professional artists. A special thanks goes out to Ms. Diane Bradley – President of the Board of Directors, Jennifer Flynt – Executive Director and Bailey Poole- Administrative Assistant for all they do to ensure our show’s continued success.
Congratulations to the 160 plus students whose works earned a place in this year’s show! All the student artists on display are winners and should feel extremely proud of their individual efforts! Job well done to the 27 dedicated high school art teachers from across the district who had the difficult task of selecting from hundreds of works created by their talented students to submit in this year’s show! Thank you to all the parents and guardians of our student artists for their invaluable support.”

“We are eternally grateful to Mrs. Williams (retired art educator) who year after year coordinates the exhibit in a cohesive and thought-provoking manner. She has coordinated and designed the ACHSAS since 2006. Although she retired from SJCSD in 2015 she still donates her time and efforts to support us. We remain extremely honored she continues to voluntarily lend her expertise to highlight the talents of our students and art educators.”
