Exhibition Judge: J. Adam McGalliard

J. Adam McGalliard has been a professional, internationally exhibiting artist for over 20 years. He received an MFA in Painting from the New York Academy of Art in 2003 and spent the next decade living and working in NYC. For nearly four years, he worked behind the scenes as an Artist Assistant for world-renowned artist Jeff Koons and has taught painting and drawing courses at Brooklyn College and the City University of New York.

While now teaching Drawing at the University of North Florida, McGalliard continues to paint — and has had his work featured in exhibitions across the globe to include the Museo de la Cuidad de Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico, the Cameron Museum of Art, Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center, Winterrundgang Der SpinneriGalerien in Leipzig, Germany, HDLU Ring Gallery in Zagreb, Croatia, and Stolen Space in London, England.

Judge’s Statement:

“Art can be emotive, inspire awe, capture the beauty of the mundane and transport the viewer to imagined times and places. The artworks that I selected for the various awards each had a commanding presence and sense of inevitability, independent from its creator, style, or subject matter.
