Oil by Gail Beveridge

"While painting one morning at the Guana River Dam, I noticed a woman throwing a cast net into the river near the dam. It brought back fond memories of the times my husband and I threw the net in our backyard creek, catching mullet and shrimp. Having secured her permission to take photographs, I was able to capture the exact moment she released the net. Her body swung around in a beautifully choreographed motion - like a pirouette in ballet. And capturing that moment of release was my intent with this painting."
