Photography by Laura Dill (14.5 in. x 17.5 in.)
"Our oceans and shores are a vulnerable intertwined web of ecosystems struggling to adapt to Climate Change. Sea Oats dig toes deep into the dunes, holding back the sea and undulating in her salted breath. Winner of “Florida as I See It” Competition and Published in the Florida State Poets Society Anthology “Cadence”, vol. 40, 2022.
BEACHES Every beach is carved and serves up the sea with peace and vitriol unique to its shores. Though they may stripe maps with different names, Ecosystems shape with more subtle boundaries woven by tides and shifting sand, day by day. Life and death meet at the sea. Each walk upon such virgin landscape humbles and renews. ©Laura Dill, February 6, 2022. All Rights Reserved."
" Artwork purchased online can be picked up AFTER the exhibit ends, on or after January 2 & 3, 2024 -- or shipped to the buyer (ALL SHIPPING COSTS TO BE PAID BY THE BUYER).

  • Rider on the Storm

Photography by Laura Dill (14.5 in. x 17.5 in.)
"A stunning find in the Atlantic Beach surf following Hurricane Irma; a rare Giant Red Hermit Crab (Petrochirus Diogenes) in a Queen Conch shell! Although they are native to Florida and reefs along the East Coast and into the Caribbean, they are rarely seen but can be ‘beached” by storms. This “Rider on the Storm” was enormous and bold; crawling partway out of the shell to check us out and drawing a small crowd as evening faded to night. He (or she) returned to the safety of the sea leaving us still exhilarated by the encounter. You never know what treasures you’ll discover on a beach walk… BEACHES Every beach is carved and serves up the sea with peace and vitriol unique to its shores.
