Charcoal on Paper by Laura Towne (18in x 24in)
"Laura Towne has been fascinated by the process of creating art her entire life, but it wasn’t until a few years ago that she left her career in medicine to pursue art full time. She loves to experiment with different materials and subject matter. The figures of “waiting” children in this large charcoal drawing were depicted with great specificity, while the surroundings play more of a supporting role. This compositional choice was meant to draw the viewer in to give a closer, more personal, or familiar feel. We have all been children and most of us remember what it feels like to wait for an event, a family tradition, or a relative to arrive. As a child, these moments seem endless, but as adults we know just how fleeting these special times, perhaps shared with siblings or other family members, truly are."
Artwork purchased online can be picked up AFTER the exhibit ends, on or after February 27 & 28, 2024 -- or shipped to the buyer (ALL SHIPPING COSTS TO BE PAID BY THE BUYER).
