Acrylic by Nikki Rakov
Originally from Virginia, Nikki Rakov grew up in Northeast Florida along William Bartram's trail. She works in acrylic, oils, and watercolor to explore the mysterious world of human emotions, myths, dreams, and mysticism.
She trained as an artist with an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts and is an MFA Painting Candidate at Savannah College of Art and Design.
Painting outdoors allows Nikki to capture the essence of St. Augustine's vibrant landscape and ever-changing atmosphere in real time. She seizes the spirit of the moment and preserves a piece of the city's layered history to connect the present to the past.
Nikki's work may be seen at Butterfield Garage Gallery in St. Augustine, where she is a resident artist.
Rainy Day! is recognized with an Honorable Mention in this exhibit.
