  "It's pure joy to work with models who inspire, and through their expressions suggest, sometimes numerous narratives that guide the work of painting. This painting grew from a couple of in person portrait studies that gave me time to really explore the model's expressions and presence. Later, using those studies, this was finished in my studio. Her expressions suggested a narrative that grew over time into this. I started out open minded, and let the painting tell me where to go."
