Valarie Pothier-Forrester has a long history of working in the arts. She earned a Bachelor of Art Education and her Master of Arts from the University of Florida. She then went on to work as an artist for the Florida Museum of Natural History and to write a curriculum for the Hard Museum of Art in Gainesville, Florida.

Valarie taught Art in Alachua County for almost 30 years at the high and middle school levels, and was once honored to be named teacher of the year.

Valarie now lives in St. Augustine, where she is an active painter and creator. Her work has been shown at a number of galleries in Florida and Canada. She is a member of the First Coast Plein Air Painters and the St. Augustine Art Association.

Over the years, Valarie has received numerous awards for her alcohol ink paintings and plein air work. She is currently represented by the Professional Artists of St. Augustine (PAStA) Fine Art Gallery, where she serves as President.

Artwork purchased online can be picked up AFTER the exhibit ends on November 1, 2024 from the St. Johns County Administration Building (located at 500 San Sebastián View, St. Augustine, FL 32084).
