Darkness Flees

$5,000.00

Acrylics by Denise Vezza Maggiore
(48 in. x 30 in.)

Each piece I create is a Visual Reflection of my Spiritual Journey, images I see in my dreams or during quiet times of meditation and prayer. I distill these visions into a cohesive image that symbolizes the eternal and spiritual aspects of life; using abstract symbolism combined with earthly and cosmic elements. The surreal environments and juxtaposed elements induce a thoughtful and curious approach to the images. Cosmic and earthly locations combine to celebrate the inner world and the physical places we inhabit. “Darkness Flees” uses metallic and iridescent colors to highlight the heavenly beings entering into Boulder Valley, Colorado. Additional angelic troops are seen in the distance, covering the mountains all the way to the Continental Divide, ready and waiting to be called into the skirmish. The eternal battle between darkness and light is symbolized through the use of color, shimmering highlights and deep shadows. The angels of light prevail as one powerful Word pushes back the armies of darkness.
