The Franciscan Friar & Indian Boy

$400.00

Oil by Dodi Truenow
(14in. x 16in.)

The quiet tenderness between the friar and boy is so touching. It caught my eye and drew me into the Oldest House museum to read the story behind the bronze statue. The coquina wall with the resurrection fern and conch shells, the arches, old kitchen, mossy oaks, and ceramic glazed planters of bright impatients, the dappled afternoon light and solitude of the walled garden, being in a place of such rich history and beauty was awe inspiring. Seeing ,feeling and experiencing a place, all senses fully engaged is what makes plein air painting magical.”
