The Moremen Homestead “La Venture” 1880

$300.00

Acrylic by Patrice Russell
(28in. x 22in.)

The original homestead in Switzerland, Florida along the St. Johns River, was settled and built by the Moremen family in 1880 and included a citrus farm that grew oranges. The wood siding, windows and doors are all original to the home. In 1970 La Venture, as the grove was known, was sold to the Normans of Jacksonville, Florida. It has been cared for as a special events venue since then.
