
Urban Sketching Workshop

Take the fear out of sketching on location – learn the basics of Urban Sketching!
Jaime Howard of Jacksonville Urban Sketchers will be teaching a sketch workshop in historic St. Augustine. Jaime is a faculty member of the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she teaches Drawing, Painting and Urban Sketching. She conducts workshops throughout the US and Europe.
Her sketchbooks and those of other artists will be used to discuss and demonstrate various methods, styles and media for preserving your own memories.
Join Professor Howard on page one of your Urban Sketchbook to begin a creative habit that will stay with you all year long! All skill levels are welcome.
Students will be provided with a supply list, and are responsible for bringing their own lunch.
Participants will:
- Put together a portable studio that can go anywhere in a pocket or purse.
- Practice drawing techniques in different mediums.
- Begin their own visual journal.
- Travel on foot within historic St. Augustine to capture visual impressions and memories.
