Wet Felted Fashion & Fundamentals

Workshop with Liz Canali

Saturday, September 14 | 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM

at the St. Augustine Art Association

Add a personal touch to your wardrobe, and learn how to make the perfect Fall accessory!

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn the basic fundamentals of wet felting and create an artistic and airy merino wool and silk scarf. Through the cobweb felt method, Liz Canali will teach you how to layer wool with even edges and add embellishment through fibers and fringe. By the end, you’ll walk out wearing a work of art — and have the skills to create your next new fashion accessory with the cobweb felting technique!

All necessary materials and supplies are included, but click the button below for an optional supply list.
Students may request specific colors for their design when registering.

About the Instructor

Liz Canali has been immersed in the world of art since she was young. She has worked as an elementary art teacher in Hopkinton, MA and then as a jewelry and weaving teacher at Northfield Mt. Hermon School in Northfield, MA. Over time, her art journey brought her into the world of art administration and she took on the position of Director of Leverett Crafts and Arts in Leverett, MA, before returning to her roots as a graphic artist.

In search of a non-computer creative outlet, Liz rediscovered fiber arts — especially felt. From wall hangings to accessories and sculpture, Liz’s work has been featured in the American Architectural Digest, Felt – The Australian Magazine for Felting, and Orlando Sentinel. She has exhibited her work throughout New England and Florida — and has won the Best of Show award three different times at the St. Augustine Art Association.
